WPC: Bridge

“We build too many walls and not enough bridges.”

-Isaac Newton

Bridges are metaphors for connection. Soccer may be a bridge between you and your sister because you enjoy watching it and she enjoys playing it. Movies may be bridges between you and your dad because you go on occasional movie dates together. Whatever the bridge may be, it connects you to people and memories.

I chose a more literal meaning this week. I have already talked about the Pont des Arts in a previous post and I have seen the Tower Bridge in London, but didn’t get a picture of it by itself. So here is my next choice: the Pont Neuf in Paris, France. I saw this bridge when I was on a boat tour on the Seine River. The name means ‘New Bridge’, which is ironic because it’s the oldest standing bridge across the river.Pont Neuf

Have you seen this bridge or been to Paris? Let me know what you thought in the comments below!

  1. I believe I’ve seen it years ago when I did that river cruise. I did not know that was the name and it’s quite ironic!

    1. I didn’t either until I was scrolling through my photos and looked it up. Apparently I wasn’t paying attention during that part of the tour!
